Description
THIS ONE IS NOT AS COMMON AS YOU MIGHT THINK!!
This Spittoon shape was made by Fenton for the International Carnival Glass Association Convention in St. Louis, MO in 1983. As with all Carnival Glass Club Souvenirs, the runs were very limited. This item had a total run of 391 pieces. AH, BUT THERE IS MORE….keep reading.
This one was made in TWO (2) different styles of Vaseline Opal. One a Pastel Vaseline Opal like this one. The other has a Marigold overlay… the styles were made roughly 50/50…so, in theroy, 145+- of each type.
Interestingly, the newsletter with the announcement called it “a Vase in Vaseline Opal with a choice of Marigold or Pastel iridescence”. Today, we all call it a Spittoon.
I use a small, 4″, 12 LED UV Flashlight for the Blacklight photo(s).
Circa 1983.
